Final Fantasy XIV Gets Its Own Controller

by Tim Turi on Sep 24, 2010 at 11:50 AM

Sometimes it's nice to plug your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 controller into your PC to play games like Final Fantasy XIV. Other times, you want a controller designed and branded for a specific game, like, say... Final Fantasy XIV. This is a case of the latter.

According to Kotaku, this controller first debuted at GamesCom. It's manufactured by Sunflex, a company who Square Enix is partnering with for future products. To be honest, I think it's a pretty uninspired rip off of a DualShock 3. The elongated handle bar grips just seem excessive, and who wants a controller that takes up more space? And besides, if you already have a DualShock 3 or a 360 controller, those will work just as easily in Final Fantasy XIV.

There's no official word on release date or price, but expect it to be available around the time Final Fantasy XIV releases, September 30.
