Possible 3DS Specs Revealed
Even with just brief hands-on time at E3, it was easy to tell that the 3DS is a significantly more powerful system than we might have expected from Nintendo. Just how powerful is it? Some early technical specs have leaked that my provide the answers.
IGN is reporting information on the 3DS specs provided by anonymous "persons familiar with the hardware." Here's the breakdown of what may make up the 3DS:
-two 266 MHz ARM11 CPUs
-133 MHz GPU
-4MBs dedicated VRAM
-64MBs RAM
-1.5GB flash storage
IGN points out that ARM11 CPUs also power the Zune HD, some Android smartphones, and earlier iPhone and iPod Touch units. The GPU's capabilities are compared to current-gen consoles but (obviously) in a smaller resolution.
These specs aren't official from Nintendo as of yet, but we'll update if we hear more.
