No Game Center For iPhone 3G

Just because users of the iPhone 3G can update to the new iOS 4.1 when it comes out today (hopefully), it doesn't mean they'll be able to take full advantage of all of the features -- namely Apple's answer to Xbox Live, Game Center.

Apple's Game Center site has posted the above chart to clear the air and crush the hopes of users still holding on to the iPhone 3G model. The second-generation iPod Touch almost didn't make the cut either, but slid in at the last second. This is surprising, according to Apple Insider, because both devices contain similar internal specs and both came out in 2008.
