Sid Meier's Pirates Landing On Wii October 5
The goofy-fun swashbuckling adventure from 2004 is making the Wii its (presumably) final port of call later this year per a 2K Games press release. This Pirates remake (no, this is not a port of the 1987 original) is has all the depth of a kiddy pool, but its lighthearted sensibilities are a great fit for Nintendo's console.
Sid Meier's Pirates puts players in the shoes of a stylized vision of the 18th century Caribbean as presented by Saturday morning cartoons. You can woo the governor's daughter, plunder valuable booty (these are two separate activities here, folks, stay with me), and carve out your own castle in true Errol Flynn style.
Each individual activity is simple like an Atari 2600 game, and I can't imagine that adding waggle is going to add a lot of depth, but taken all together there will be some easy-breezy fun to be had here provided this port isn't a total disaster.
