Battle Of Giants: Dinosaur Strike Announced For Wii

by Phil Kollar on Aug 18, 2010 at 02:35 AM

Do you like dinosaurs? Do you want to fight as a dinosaur? Boom, Ubisoft's got you covered. The publisher announced today that they will be bringing the awesomely-titled Battle of Giants: Dinosaurs Strike to the Wii this November.

If you haven't heard of it (which isn't terribly unlikely), Battle of Giants is a long-running series of DS games popular in Europe (though there it's known as Combat of Giants). Dinosaurs Strike was previously announced at E3 as the first entry in the series to appear on 3DS, but now it appears that it will also be the first retail console version.

Players are able to choose between 18 different dinosaur breeds, including "T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Velociraptor, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus or Baryonyx." There's further visual customization beyond that and even the ability to upgrade your creature with horns, bone plates, and more.

Once you've chosen a combatant, you have to take on other dinosaurs and attempt to survive some three different environments: tropical forest, desert, and mountain. There are also multiple multiplayer modes, although no mention of if there will be online support.

Although I don't have a ton of details or images of the Wii version of Dinosaurs Strike, I did manage to find this ridiculous German trailer for the 3DS version. Enjoy the insane voice over on this one.

One thing's for certain: Andrew Reiner will be buying this game.
