Weekend Warrior 07/30/10
It's all about StarCraft this weekend. Are you hooked too, or are you catching up on your backlog? Let us know your weekend plans in the comments section.
Andy: I've had a bit of a hectic schedule lately so my weekend is all about catching up (with a touch of outdoor fun). Inception on Friday, crazy boat trip on Tonka on Saturday (Big Island party go), with each of these events followed by late night Limbo, Starcraft 2, and Dragon Age: Origins, with Sunday completely dedicated to vids, minus a bike ride if it's nice outside.
Kato: Let's see. The following games are on my docket (in no particular order): Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Madden NFL 11, FIFA 11, Red Dead Redemption, NHL 11, Limbo & Joe Danger. I may have to go about this in a piece-meal approach: Play only one mission/match/level of each game at a time before going on to the next one. But where's the fun in this? What if I want to get lost in one particular game and veer off the strict schedule?
Bryan: Unfortunately, I'll be away from my Xbox 360 this weekend so I won't be able to join every other editor in playing Castlevania: HoD. However, I'll be playing the hell out of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep so that's pretty sweet.
Tim: Seriously. I've been working at these Super Mario Galaxy 2 green stars for so long. I think I'm starting to lose steam. But I must persevere. I'm very close to the end of Chrono Trigger as well. What's more, I've only got one more stage to go on the first Donkey Kong Country! Oh yeah, I have a download code for Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, so that will be happening. That, and some Borderlands DLC and Heavenly Sword (Wha?).
Jeff M: Like Wayne Gretzky once said, "You fail to beat 100% of the video games that you don't play." (Or something like that.) With that in mind, this weekend I will once again try to beat Red Dead Redemption, Red Faction: Guerrilla, or Red Guerilla: Dead Faction Redemption. Or maybe I'll just try to get some sleep -- clearly my brain needs it.
Meagan: With San Diego Comic-Con behind me, I'm itching to dust off my 360. I've still got to finish the last chapter in Lost Planet, polish off Alan Wake, and plow through Limbo. I'm not sure which one will get my time and attention first, but I'm adamant about checking something off my list this weekend.
Annette: Full on Comic-Con recovery this weekend. Wrapping up Limbo tonight then finishing what's left of Dead Space, and throwing in some Castlevania for good measure. As a result of time constraints and my inability to finish longer titles in my adulthood (FFXIII, Red Dead, Mass Effect) I'm tackling Alan Wake next. I feel more accomplished tackling titles in my backlog that only require a few sittings. I remember a time in my youth where I had enough hours in the day to complete RPGs several times through. Ah, the good old days. I might finally go see Inception as well.
Dan: StarCraft, StarCraft, and more StarCraft. I'll probably come close to finishing up the single player campaign over the weekend, and after that it's all multiplayer. Or, more accurately, getting my ass kicked in multiplayer. When I'm not taking out Zerg, I'll probably be at the lake if it's nice enough outside.
Sean: StarCraft 2. There is nothing else, and never will be again.
That's it for us. What are you up to this weekend?
