New Dragon Quest IX Video And Art Show Happy Monsters, Angry Humans

At first I was enjoying the colorful whimsy of the latest concept art and trailer for Square Enix's upcoming RPG Dragon Quest IX, but then I began to notice something more...sinister. Checking out the concept art below, did you catch it? All the so-called "monsters" are smiling and happy...and all of the hero classes are scowling! That big green guy with the spear may be called "Cruelcumber," but I think we know who the real villains of Dragon Quest IX are!

Does this new media get you excited for the latest installment in Square Enix's most popular RPG series that isn't called Final Fantasy? Me too! Sadly you'll have to wait until the game's release on July 11 to figure out why the main hero has to cut down legions of smiling slimes this time around.
