The Old Republic Expands To Planet Voss

BioWare has revealed another setting for its Star Wars MMO: the planet Voss, which has not appeared in Star Wars fiction to date. According to the developer's website, this world is inhabited by two antagonistic species that hate outsiders nearly as much as each other.

The Gormak, which number in the millions and control the vast majority of planet, are a technologically adept but pre-spaceflight race of xenophobes. Even though they hugely outnumber the Voss and have tried to destroy them for generations, this other race holds fast to its mountaintop home thanks to its powerful Force-using Mystics – whose clairvoyant abilities even the most powerful Jedi and Sith don't entirely understand.

The planet is independent of both Empire and Republic in the time period that the game takes place, and will undoubtedly offer some interesting missions for players of both factions.

Most importantly, the simplistic phonemes that make up its name can be used for excellent punning. You could exile criminals to Vosstralia, or lament the lack of female companionship at a Vossage party. You could even enhance the local cuisine with secret Voss.
