Conduit 2 To Have Online Co-op

by Adam Biessener on Mar 31, 2010 at 10:23 AM

Sega announced yesterday that Conduit 2 will be shipping for the Wii this fall, and the new dawn brings us further info on the near-future first-person shooter. The usual rhetoric about fabulous new weapons and enemies is present on the recently unveiled official website, but one new feature non-sarcastically caught our eye: a four-player cooperative mode that can be played online or locally.

Team Invasion's co-op play sounds similar to Gears of War's Horde mode, as "up to four players battle side-by-side against waves of enemies." Co-op is all the rage these days, but with few exceptions I'm all for it. This can only improve Conduit 2, as the original suffered badly from a lack of variety.

Are you any more likely to get into this sequel, or did the first game leave you cold enough to take a pass on this one? I'm personally hoping that developer High Voltage can build content that doesn't suck this time to take advantage of the competent basic gameplay. Then again, I've played a fair amount of FPS since 1997 and I'm not sure that I'm feeling that nostalgic.
