Assassin’s Creed Novel Releases In the U.S.
Today, Penguin Books released Assassin’s Creed: Renaissance, a companion novel to the Ubisoft’s blockbuster video game Assassin’s Creed II. The book, written by Oliver Bowden, expands on the saga of AC II protagonist Ezio Auditore and his adventures in renaissance Italy. This marks the book’s first publication in North America since its original release in the U.K. and Australia in November of 2009.
The book appears to stick fairly close to the plotlines contained in the game. Based on our reading of the first chapter, it's written a somewhat overwrought style that should be familiar to those who make a habit of reading video game-based literature. Whether or not the Assassin’s Creed franchise can become a paperback juggernaut on par with Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell book series remains to be seen.
The book is on sale now at Barnes & Noble and Amazon (in both bound and Kindle editions).
