Weekend Warrior 02/12/10

by Annette Gonzalez on Feb 12, 2010 at 12:30 PM

This weekend our staff returns to Rapture with BioShock 2 and tying up loose ends with older titles. Read on to find out what we're playing over the next couple days, then head over to the comments section to tell us your weekend game plan.

Bertz: My first weekend without football since July shall not be in vain. Now that I finished Mass Effect 2 (best RPG since Oblivion), I'm taking a return voyage to Rapture. The first few hours were pretty slow, but I've since found a rhythm and the enjoyment factor is ramping up. I've also got the God of War Collection staring me in the face. Kratos isn't cool with the fact that I've never finished one of his games (I know, I know). With OMGOW III on the horizon, this seems like the perfect time to correct the mistake.

Annette: I plan on finishing BioShock 2 this weekend. I've taken the virtuous route thus far, but we'll see how long my kindness lasts. To continue with the morality kick I've been on, the original Mass Effect is also on the agenda. I'll be spending some long overdue quality time with my 360...assuming it doesn't red ring.

Helgeson: I am going to play Assassin's Creed II and then sell my house for a million dollars. Also, I may go for a brisk walk.

Nick: I'd love to play some games this weekend. Especially Mass Effect 2. But over the course of two days, I had both of my Xbox 360s die on me, and my HDTV started a slow, painful death. Thankfully, I have some backups. I just finally started playing through Trine and I really dig it, so powering through that is the plan. However, while playing, I might throw a few sad glances at my pair of lifeless 360s. Sigh.

Meagan: I can't tell you what I will be playing this weekend. It's a secret. Chew on that.

Tim: Now that I'm through with Mass Effect 2 (loved it), I'm not sure what to move on to. I've been playing Chrono Trigger DS while on the road for X10, and that game's been growing on me. I could see myself starting watching Dexter and continuing with Chrono this weekend. Otherwise, I was thinking of starting a new Mass Effect 1 game as a Renegade female to see that side of the good/evil spectrum, and also experience the female voice actor (who I hear is better). Otherwise, I might pick Oblivion back up or maybe try Fable.

Phil: I'm working on a long review game, which has limited my gaming time during the week. While I've got to continue working on that review through the weekend, I'm hoping to find some time to finally dig in a bit deeper to BioShock 2. I picked the game up from a midnight sale on Monday and rushed through the first couple areas and loved it, but it's just been difficult to find the time and motivation to jump back into Rapture during the week! Beyond that, my World of Warcraft guild is finally progressing in Icecrown, the latest WOW expansion's final raid. This weekend we'll be defeating Saurfang, the boss of the raid's first wing, and marching toward our battle with the Lich King.

Jeff A: A little Phantom Hourglass and perhaps a bit of Assassin's Creed II. I've shelved that game for far too long. Although, and I swore I wasn't going to do this, I've been very tempted to go out and pick up BioShock 2. Just saying that makes me want it that much more. Gah.

That's it for us. What are you playing this weekend?
