Weekend Warrior 01/22/10

by Annette Gonzalez on Jan 22, 2010 at 12:30 PM

Looks like the Game Informer staff will be rooting for the Vikings in the game against the Saints on Sunday, but of course we'll make room for some gaming as well. Read on to find out what we're playing, then head over to the comments section and let us know what games you'll be working on this weekend.

Jeff C: After finishing up Amped 3 last weekend (don't ask why I went back to that one), I'm making a point of revisiting a bunch of stuff I never got around to wrapping up. Ninja Blade and Prototype are probably the first two on my list, and I'll probably close shop on Guitar Hero: Van Halen, even though that game is a disgrace in just about every way possible.

Bertz: This weekend is all Vikings. On Saturday I'm prepping for the NFC Championship game by playing Madden Ultimate Team -- right now I'm trying to land one of the coveted Randy Moss Viking cards. On Sunday I'll drink the nerves away during the Colts-Jets game to steel myself for the showdown with New Orleans later that evening. Since I've been alive the Vikings have lost all three NFC Championship games in which they've appeared. If they win, there won't be a happier fan. If they lose another, you won't want to face my wrath in Modern Warfare 2.

Tim: Mark my words: Darksiders shall lay conquered and discarded at me feet by the end of the weekend. After that I shall cast my gaze on the DS version of Chrono Trigger, finally manipulating the game's time-bending ways to my will and my will alone. Nothing shall stop my gaming blitzkrieg in this coming weekend. I vow to pillage New Super Mario Bros. Wii of all its golden coins as well. Victory has a name, and it is TIM.

Annette: I will revisit FFXII this weekend. When the game was first released I was still in college so I didn't have enough time to give it the attention it deserved. One of my college roommates ran off with my memory card so it's time to start from scratch. I just need to get my FF fix before XIII comes out. I also plan on spending lots of time with P90X. I'm hoping my next weigh-in for the GI Weight Loss Competition yields positive results. With as much as we've mentioned this program, Tony Horton needs to get us an endorsement deal.

Sean: I have finally gotten myself drawn into Ezio Auditore's story and am loving it, so I think my free time will be with Assassin's Creed II. There's some great playoff football this weekend, too, and the Vikings are another story I've been drawn into this past season. I may intersperse all this with more time in Darksiders.

Dan: My focus is squarely on the weight loss challenge, so tonight is less about going out and more about exercising and getting through Darksiders. Once that's done, I'm going to work on finishing the first Mass Effect before 2 comes out. I'm keeping my drinking down to one night a week since beer doesn't go hand-in-hand with weight loss, so I'm going to save that for the Vikings-Saints game on Sunday.

Jeff A: Main focus: Vikings vs. Saints Sunday evening. Here's hoping The Purple can erase the heartache of '98 and '01. Should be a barn-burner! Other than that, I plan to keep plugging away on A Link to the Past and perhaps a little Bayonetta. Although I must admit, I'm not real smitten with that game like so many other people seem to be. Meh.

That's it for us. What are you up to this weekend?
