New Super Mario Bros. Wii Is Japan’s Fastest Selling Wii Game
Mario has done it again. We already know that Nintendo’s latest gem sold an amazing 2.82 million in December, topping off the US NPD charts. Japan’s numbers are even higher, hitting 3,002,753 units sold.
According to Famitsu.com, the game acquired triple platinum status in the mere seven weeks of its release on December 3. This makes New Super Mario Bros. Wii Japan’s fastest selling Wii game ever.
Can Nintendo’s mascot usurp the Wii’s less traditional hits, Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit in total sales? We’ve got a feeling this is only the beginning of New Super Mario Bros. march of glory.
