Weekend Warrior 01/15/10

by Annette Gonzalez on Jan 15, 2010 at 12:30 PM

Minneapolis is under a heat advisory this weekend as it looks like it's going to hit close to 40 degrees! Alright, so it's still cold, but for those of us in the Midwest, 40 degrees in January is well appreciated. Still, you'll find most of us trapped inside of our homes this weekend wrapped in a Snuggie and playing our favorite games. Read on to find out what we're playing then head over to the comments section to let us know what games you'll be grinding through this weekend.

Reiner: Under the water...in Rapture...shooting fireballs at people...

Tim: I finally beat Guadia Quest! Now I just have to clean up Haggleman 3 and this whole Retro Game Challenge thing will be done and dusted. Loved the game, I just have taken too long to beat it. I'm also considering becoming a hermit and powering through Darksiders. The game is a lot of fun, but the sporadic gaming sessions I've been having with it aren't doing it justice. I need to clean my slate for Mass Effect 2!

Annette: I've been spending more time working out to secure my victory in the GI Weight Loss Competition than actually gaming, so this weekend my consoles will finally get some love. I just borrowed NBA Street Homecourt from the vault, which is perfect because I've been looking for something quick to play amid some of the longer games I need to finish (huge fan of the original NBA Street). If I can find a copy of Mass Effect around the office I'd like to get going on that to prep for Mass Effect 2. Otherwise I may give Darksiders a go.

Meagan: Army of Two and Bayonetta for me. I also plan on trying to polish of another custom Munny that I am stoked about. Hopefully I will have pictures of it next week. Then on Sunday I will be doing some volunteer work packing food to send to Haiti. It will be a busy weekend, but a good one. I think.

Sean: I'm playing Assassin's Creed II this weekend if it kills me (is that a pun?). Almost had it a month now and it's still in the *** case!  That is all.

Kato: I'm currently playing Assassin's Creed II, and I can't wait to play more this weekend because the game just opened up by giving me access to Monteriggioni. I love the pacing of AC II. So far it's blended its story points, missions, and ancillary systems like Monteriggioni very well. Doing so only adds to richness of the world that's been created.

Jeff A: Praying Gopher hockey can take down the Sioux this weekend. Praying the Vikings can take down the Cowboys on Sunday. Hoping the Gopher basketball team can win one against the Hoosiers on Sunday. Hoping the Wild can pull out a win against the Coyotes on Friday. The Timberwolves.....don't care. Other than that, I'll try to delve a little more into A Link to the Past on my DS. And perhaps some Bayonetta as well. That game is pure insanity on so many levels that I don't even know where to begin. But man, it sure does play like a dream.

That's it for us. What's on your play list?
