Weekend Warrior 01/08/10
Welcome to the first Weekend Warrior of the year! After two weeks of holidays, food and games we're back to work. Now that the weekend is here after our first full week of work, we're going to spend the next couple days doing what we do best: playing games. Read on to find out what we're playing this weekend, then head over to the comments section and let us know what's on your play list.
Reiner: My band, Tripping Icarus, is playing a gig at the Triple Rock on Saturday night. Outside of this distraction, all of my time will be going into playing Mass Effect 2.
Jeff C: I'm finally going to get around to playing Infamous this weekend. Maybe I'll break it up with some Forza, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Dragon Age, but it's my goal to make it a PS3-centric weekend. We'll see how it goes.
Joe: Having cleared off most of the games on my must-finish list (Bayonetta, Dragon Age: Origins, Assassin's Creed II, Uncharted 2, Darksiders), I'm going to be spending my weekend with an upcoming game that just came in for review. I can't divulge what it is yet, but I will say that I feel pretty lucky to be one of the few people out there playing this right now.
Bryan: I hope to polish off the last of Call of Duty Classic this weekend, finally completing the CoD canon. It's been interesting seeing how it all began – what's always been there and what hasn't. I sure miss those grenade location indicators. And why can't I tweak brightness settings? Any shaded area, even in broad daylight, instantly turns my screen pitch black.
Meagan: Bayonetta for me! I can't wait to get back to the couch and power through more of the game. I am usually a hardcore button masher, but am trying really hard to learn combos and perfect my timing right off the bat. We'll see how well that goes. Otherwise I plan on watching Aliens with some friends of mine while I work on more custom Munny creations! Lazy weekends are the best.
Annette: Meagan, Dan, Jeff C., Bryan and myself have got ourselves involved in a high stakes GI Weight Loss Competition. With that said, I'll spend most of my weekend in the gym and fighting hunger. If I can find it in the vault I'll probably play EA Active. I hear it's one hell of a workout. In between workouts I'll probably finish up God of War Collection and hopefully play through Bayonetta again. That game is awesome. Go play it now.
Dan: Considering that I'm obsessed about winning the Game Informer Weight Loss Competition, I'll probably spend most of my weekend running and being hungry. While technically not a weekend thing, I'm really excited about going to WWE Monday Night Raw next week with Mike Tyson as the guest host.
Tim: I finally beat Guadia Quest in Retro Game Challenge. With that behind me, I'll likely be moving on to Haggleman 3 and wrap up that chapter of my DS life. After that I'll either finish Chrono Trigger or start Mario & Luigi 3. On the console side of things, I'll likely continue plugging away at Darksiders. So far the game seems great, I'm just waiting for the gameplay to really sink its claws in me and hold me captive. Bayonetta is a hard act to follow, though.
Sean: I am hoping to finally be able to play my Christmas present, Assassin's Creed II, and do my best not to kill my son's new fish (I really have no idea how to run an aquarium). Internet is finally restored at the Lowery household, so I imagine I'll catch up on demos and PSN games as well. My son loves Peggle and TMNT, so I envision playing those until my hair turns gray...er.
Phil: My big project this weekend will be to play through the original No More Heroes in preparation for the sequel! I've made it to rank nine already, but that means I have eight more assassins that I need to take out. This game is ridiculous. Aside from that, I hope to check out a bit more Darksiders. I was lucky enough to play it before release over the holidays, but now that I have my personal copy I'd like to jump back in, explore the world a little more, and finish some sidequests. I also might continue playing Final Fantasy XII following last weekend's successful FFXII game-a-thon on Twitter. Check out my blog for details on that!
Alright that's it for us. Which disks will be spinning in your consoles this weekend?
