Kane & Lynch Return In Dog Days

by Meagan Marie on Nov 18, 2009 at 05:05 AM

Square Enix, Eidos and IO Interactive officially announced a sequel to Kane & Lynch: Dead Men today – Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. Little is known about the sequel, other than that it will maintain its raw and brutal tone and follow Kane and Lynch through the Shanghai underworld. New Fragile Alliance multiplayer modes have also been touted.

“Gamers are always looking for something new and that is exactly what they are going to get with Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days,” said Niels Jørgensen, general manager of IO Interactive. “A special thanks to gamers worldwide for their feedback. They are certainly in for a shock as we, with immense pride, welcome back our two dear, violent and somewhat unfortunate friends.”

IO plans to introduce a new “visual experience” in Dog Days, revealing that the execution is heavily influenced by filmmakers and the user-generated era. Their goal is to deliver a fresh perspective on how “realistic” video games can be.

In this vein, we received two trailers for today’s debut. Being very bad men, the clips (told through captured security footage) show Kane & Lynch doing very bad things. The first clip, Bowling for Shanghai, shows Kane breaking and entering a residence using a bowling ball as a blunt instrument. There is some implied debauchery off camera using the bowling ball, also. The second clip shows Kane and Lynch tearing through a burger joint, running from pursuers. When an attack dog catches up to them, a food tray turns deadly.
