Square Enix To Remain…Square Enix

Just yesterday Square Enix Ltd. And Eidos announced that the reorganization associated with the merger of the two companies has completed. They also confirmed that there will be no name changes related to the move – the combined UK business will retain the Square Enix moniker under the Square Enix Europe umbrella. This isn't unexpected, considering the sizable collateral associated with the Square Enix brand.

“Today marks a major achievement towards the goals we announced in July and represents the creation of an efficient and powerful structure for game development and publishing.” said Phil Rogers, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Europe. “We have a formidable product-line up which truly showcases the diversity of our exceptional gaming brands.”

Based out of Wimbledon, London, Square Enix Europe now develops first party content and publishes for Taitio and Eidos. They also manage studios including Crystal Dynamics, IO Interactive, Beautiful Game Studio and Eidos Montréal.
