EA Announces Dante’s Inferno Demo, Releases “Heresy” Dev Diary
Visceral Games seems to think that the holidays aren’t punishing enough for some, encouraging gamers to spend December in hell. EA announced today that a demo for Dante’s Inferno will launch next month, allowing players to test their chops in the entire opening level.
The “Gates of Hell” demo introduces the hero, battle system and basic gameplay and will allow you to take on Death himself. If you best the boss, Dante will then be armed with one of his signature weapons, a familiar looking scythe, and will be ready to enter the gates of hell.
“Our main goal from the start of this project has been to create a journey that will make gamers truly feel like they are going through hell,” said executive producer Jonathan Knight. “The demo will give everyone some insight into how we are treating the story and a taste of the gameplay. And with nine more circles of hell to explore once the game comes out in February, we are literally just scratching the surface.”
In addition to the news about the demo, EA and Visceral also released a new developer diary detailing Dante’s trip through the Sixth Circle of Hell, Heresy. They also talk candidly about the reactions to some of their more controversial subject matter.
