Activision Details November Guitar Hero Downloads
Activision released a slew of new Guitar Hero details today, including the reveal of Lenny Kravitz and KISS track packs and forward compatible content information.
On November 5, the day Band Hero hits retail, Guitar Hero fans will have the chance to import 69 tracks from Guitar Hero 5 into Band Hero, or conversely, import 61 of Band Hero’s tracks to Guitar Hero 5. This is good news for fans looking to augment their music library. The move isn’t free, however, costing you 480 Microsoft Points/$5.99/600 Wii Points for the Guitar Hero 5 transfer, or 400 Microsoft Points, $4.99/500 Wii Points for Band Hero.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album “Let Love Rule," Lenny Kravitz will be returning to the Guitar Hero platform on November 12. “Let Love Rule,” “Lady” and “Fly Away,” will all be available for download via a three-song track pack.
Additionally, KISS is contributing their own three-song pack, with “Modern Day Delilah,” (the first single off their new album “Sonic Boom”) “Lick It Up” and “I was Made for Loving You” on the roster. The Lenny Kravitz and KISS packs will go for 440 Microsoft Points/$5.49/550 Wii Points. You can also download the tracks individually 160 Microsoft Points/$1.99/200 Wii Points each.
Moving on, as a thank you to loyal fans, Neversoft is giving away a free six-song pack featuring tracks from Neversoft employee bands. Launching just before Thanksgiving – November 24 – the pack includes “Lemon Frosting" by Bunny Knutson, "RockNRola” by Nancy Fullforce, “From the Blue/Point of No Return/T.T.R.T.S" by An Endless Sporadic, “Love Holds It Down” by Dom Liberati, “You Really Like Me” by Davidicus and "Guilty Pleasures” by Tony Solis. The pack will only be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users.
But Wii owners aren’t entirely slighted. The same day will see the release of eight tracks from Metallica’s Death Magnetic album – previously released on the two contending consoles. Downloadable as singles, the tracks include “All Nightmare Long,” “That Was Just Your Life,” “The Day That Never Comes,” “The Judas Kiss,” “The End Of The Line,” “The Unforgiven III,” “Suicide & Redemption J.H.” and “Suicide & Redemption K.H.” The tracks weigh in at 200 Wii Points each.
