League of Legends Beta Available

Indie developer Riot Games has invited gamers to join the League of Legends “Pre-Season” beta for the low, low cost of free. The beta will give players a head start on the title with time to learn the game, build teams and develop strategies before Season One opens in early 2010. In addition, beta participants will be able to keep their accounts permanently.

Sounds a bit like a sports title doesn't it? The game is actually a strategy title that combines role-playing elements and competitive gameplay. League of Legends will be available on PC October 27.
