Early Forza 3 Players Getting Banned On Xbox Live

by Phil Kollar on Oct 17, 2009 at 12:45 PM

Pirates be warned. Microsoft seems to be cracking down on illicit gamers who are playing early copies of Forza 3.

Microsoft director of policy and enforcement for Xbox Live Stephen Tolouse wrote on his Twitter (via Destructoid): "You know, when you play a pre-release title on LIVE when I know you shouldn’t have it, it’s not hard for me to figure out."

Toulouse went on to assure people that they're able to tell whether Xbox Live users are playing an actual retail copy that they just happened to get early or a sketchy illegal copy. Microsoft is only cracking down on the illegal stuff, naturally.

Destructoid's report also mentions Microsoft cracking down on illegal Borderlands copies as well, although this isn't confirmed on Toulouse's Twitter account. Of course we can always hope that Borderlands is included and that they accidentally ban GI's Dan Ryckert as punishment for getting to play the game before me.
