Weekend Warrior: 10/16/09

by Annette Gonzalez on Oct 16, 2009 at 02:07 PM

It's that time of the week again! The work week is over and we're all itching to play our favorite games. Read on and find out what we're up to this weekend then tell us what's on your play list.

Dan: After a ridiculously busy few weeks, I plan to spend some serious time with Borderlands. I'm also working on my second playthrough of Uncharted 2, this time on Hard (not looking forward to Crushing). My sixth 360 is down so it's time to take another loaner home from GI. Outside of games, I'm going to try to get some tickets to the Vikings-Ravens game on Sunday.

Matt Helgeson: Beer. Half-Life 2. Watching the Vikings game.

Phil: This will be weekend #2 devoted to Demon's Souls. The game has been demolishing me, but I still love it (hear more about it on this week's episode of The Game Informer Show!). If I can get that wrapped up, I'll be moving quite eagerly into Uncharted 2, since my copy has been taunting me all week. My PS3 hasn't seen this much love in quite a long time! As usual, I'll also be fitting in some time for World of Warcraft where my guild will make its second attempt to take down the new level 80 version of Onyxia. We got her down to 30% or so last time, so hopefully we can push through the rest this time!

Tim: This weekend I shall be curbing my appetite for zombie blood. Left 4 Dead 2 is looming on the horizon and it’s time to hone my apocalyptic skills with the original L4D. I’ll also likely be plugging away at Modern Warfare and Cooking Mama 3. Yes, zombies, martyrdom and macaroni casserole.

Jeff M: Due to my brother’s bachelor party this weekend, I probably won’t be playing many video games – unless they can be turned into drinking games. A drink every time someone gets a strike in Wii Bowling? Hmm…motion controls + drunkenness = bad idea. Maybe a Left 4 Dead drinking game would be better. Shots every time a Special Infected shows up? Nah, too many – we’d be puking like Boomers before the first campaign was over. Maybe we’ll just stick to beer pong…unless one of our readers has a good suggestion?

Annette: This weekend I’m working on some Game Informer stuff so my next few days are looking pretty busy. I also hope to squeeze in some time with Uncharted  2...and beer.

Meagan: This weekend is my grandma’s 70th birthday celebration (it’s a secret, but I am pretty sure she doesn’t frequent this site), so my gaming will be portable for the five-hour drive. I will probably try to finish up Scribblenauts and Phantom Hourglass while on the road. I plan on bringing my PC with me as well so I may score some indie game time with Machinarium back at the hotel. Otherwise, I am rushing home right now to play as much Uncharted 2 as possible before I finally conk out tonight. It’s been one of those weeks.

Jeff: Where to begin? For the most part, I'll probably be switching back and forth between Brutal Legend and Uncharted 2. I might sneak in a little Borderlands with Dan, though he's probably so far beyond  my level by now he'd have to be a saint to put up with my low-level quests. (Or I could tag along on some of his quests and have him boost me a bit... Hmmm...) Maybe I'll organize my games, too. Very exciting. Other than that, I'm going to see Where the Wild Things are. I can't wait!

Your turn. What's your game plan this weekend?
