Test Chamber – Freedom Wars

Amidst the deluge of games releasing this week is a promising Vita game you may not have heard about. Freedom Wars is an action-RPG developed by SCE Japan Studio, Shift, and Dimps, which drops players in a dystopian future and slaps them with a million-year prison sentence. The player must work off the sentence by – what else – fighting giant robot monsters with a variety of guns, melee weapons, and a Spiderman-style grappling whip.

Andrew Reiner and I cheer on Joe Juba as he attempts to escape the Panopticon and learn the ropes in this Japanese hit. Can he save innocent civilians from the gigantic Abductors? More importantly, can he carry them to safety without slamming them into the ground? And what the heck is with the UPC butt boxes? Watch the video below to find out.
