GI Unboxes And Tests The 3DS

We finally got our Japanese 3DS from the importer, so we couldn't wait to tear it open. GI's Matt Helgeson does the honors, showing you all the contents of the retail package, including the pack of AR cards that work with some cool augmented reality game functionality that's built into the hardware.

We also show you the unit's menu system, camera functions, Mii editors, and more. Finally, we cracked open the four Japanese 3DS games that arrived today -- Nintendogs + Cats, Ridge Racer 3D, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, and Battle of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D -- and play (or attempt to play) them. Despite Matt's inability to read Japanese and generally poor cognitive and motor skills, the whole thing went pretty well.
