Respec Radio Ep. 14: Waiting On Cataclysm, Hating On FF XIV

by Phil Kollar on Sep 21, 2010 at 02:20 PM

Actually, calling our Final Fantasy XIV discussion on this week's episode of Respec Radio "hate" may be a bit harsh, but I couldn't avoid rhyming. Mostly Andy McNamara and Adam Biessener are just confused about what to feel as I tell them about my time with the FF XIV open beta. For every interesting and positive thing the game is doing, there are weird systems in place that seem to push people away. I'm eager to get my hands on the final game if only to see if I start feeling more strongly one way or another instead of just torn between digging it and hating it.

In addition to the Final Fantasy talk, we run through the APB shutdown and discuss what went wrong with Realtime Worlds' action MMO. There's also a lot of time devoted to all the new updates that have popped up in the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm beta as Blizzard's third WoW expansion nears release. We talk mounts, mobile guild chat, the "return to graveyard" button and more.

Oh, and we announce our first ever Respec Radio contest! Listen to the full episode below to hear how you can win a copy of the collector's edition of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.
