James Bond Review Round-Up

by Jeff Cork on Nov 02, 2010 at 06:59 AM

A pair of James Bond games hit shelves today, though they don't have much in common beyond the central character. One reimagines a classic FPS, while the other is a third-person action game. More importantly, one is worth playing, while the other should probably be left alone. Check out excerpts from the reviews below, and then click the links to check them out in their entirety.

GoldenEye 007 (Nintendo Wii)
"GoldenEye 007 doesn’t feel like the retro dream it’s meant to be. This Bond game is lost in limbo somewhere between last generation and modern day shooters. Only diehard Bond or FPS fans with nothing but a Wii should bother picking this one up."--Tim Turi

James Bond 007: Blood Stone (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
"Bizarre clearly set out to make Blood Stone feel like a part of Bond’s movie canon, and it’s certainly successful on that front. The weapons are anemic, and the driving sections can be dodgy, but it delivers a dose of spectacle and intrigue worthy of the character."--Jeff Cork
