Crysis 2 Invading New York March 22

Console gamers will get their first chance to wield the awesome powers of the nanosuit early next year. According to the official Crysis 2 tweet, you can look forward to kicking some alien ass and saving what's left of a decimated New York City on March 22. Though you'd think Fed Ex could handle a transatlantic delivery no problem these days, Europe has to wait three extra days to do the same on March 25.

Originally scheduled to come out this holiday, a recent Electronic Arts investment call revealed the game had been pushed back into late Q4 2011. Crysis 2 is moving into a crowded sci-fi shooter shooter launch window, with Bulletstorm, Gears of War 3, Dead Space 2, and Killzone 3 scheduled to release in the same time frame. Obviously the game shouldn't ship if it's not done, but you have to think Crysis 2 would have benefited from being the only game of its kind in this year's holiday lineup outside of Halo Reach, which launches September 14.
