Lucasarts On Force Unleashed II, Motion Controls, Yoda

by Jeff Cork on Jul 23, 2010 at 10:48 AM

Star Wars is still kind of a big deal at Comic-Con, and LucasArts took advantage of that goodwill to show off some more of Star Wars The Force Unleashed II and answer a couple of questions.

First, apprentice Starkiller showed off his new force power, the Jedi mind trick. With a name like Starkiller, don't expect him to squander it on convincing a few dopey stormtroopers that they're looking at the wrong droids. In the Force Unleashed II, players can zap enemies with it and either have them fight on Starkiller's behalf (fun) or even have them inflict harm on themselves (more fun). In the demo, we saw a few troopers off themselves by leaping into electrical fields and out of windows.

After the demo, executive producer Haden Blackman answered a few questions. When asked about the Star Wars Kinect game teased at E3, Blackman wouldn't say much other than LucasArts is very excited about motion controls and working with Kinect and Move.

We already know that infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett will be making an appearance in the Force Unleashed, but what about other well-known characters from the Star Wars universe? Say, someone like Yoda, for example? Blackman says that Starkiller's adventures will take him to Dagobah and will have a "fateful encounter" there with someone who tells him where to go. That's obviously not direct confirmation about our little green buddy's status, but it sure sounds like it's a distinct possibility.
