Take-Two, 3D Realms Holster Duke Nukem Forever Lawsuits

by Jeff Cork on Jun 11, 2010 at 10:04 AM

At this point, is there even such a thing as good news when it comes to Duke Nukem Forever? The game, which has been in various states of development for the past dozen or so years, has most recently been the subject of several suits and countersuits. The whole mess started when would-be publisher Take-Two filed suit against developer 3D Realms after the studio canned its development staff. 3D Realms responded with its own filing, saying that Take-Two was trying to pressure the studio into selling its stake in the franchise for less than its market value.

Well, the game might still be in development hell, but at least the legal wrangling appears to have ended. According to a court filing made on May 28 and discovered by Shacknews, both parties have agreed to drop all pending litigation.

Now that all of those distractions seem to have evaporated, everyone can get back to working on Duke. Right? Right?
