Keita Takahashi, the mind behind Katamari Damacy and Noby Noby Boy, has been throwing around quite a few creative project ideas lately. Earlier this week we discovered that Takahashi is working on a playground design for Nottingham City, and now the designer has an idea for “a fun and unique FPS.”
“...I had this idea for an FPS where the player’s character grows in size, gets bigger and bigger as the game progresses. But as you get bigger some weapons are too small to use, so you have to improvise; maybe throw airplanes at the enemies. That sort of stuff,” Takahashi told Develop.
Will the King of All Cosmos start packing heat? If this project ever comes to fruition, we can only imagine it will be quirky and expect nothing less.
Sounds insteresting. I once doubted the Katamari franchis but after playing one it was very fun. If this shooter comes out I might check it out.
Weird idea, but it might work. The plotline would be hard to pull off though. "You are growing, and you must destroy your enemies."
If it started off as the main character being super tiny, it might have more potential. Start off by shooting needles with rubber bands, and work your way up to snatching planes out of the sky and throwing them at your enemies.
Sounds odd, but very interesting. Just like Katamari.
I like his games. But I'm not sure it's an idea that fits in the fps genre.
Well, I know one thing: it would be very colorful :-)
Sounds a bit too much like Katamari though, which might turn off some of the long-time fans. I've only played a demo for Katamari, but so far, I've liked what I've seen, so I'd probably like the FPS game.
Lol throwing planes at the enemy? Why not just chuck a house while ur at it, but no this is about what I expected from this guy, he seems to be fascinated with proportions. Making things grow, but I can't knock him. It could be sumthing very interesting, although he should try and be a little more original than that. I mean its still katamari, just, with shooting now.
Sounds good to me. I can't imagine how multiplayer could work, though. I mean, if one player's the size of an ant, and the other grew to giant octopus size... I just can't imagine it. I'm sure they'll think of something, though.
They will probably pull it off in some weird, unimaginable way that no one has ever thought of before!!!
How many drugs are involved in these ideas, honestly? :)
