The long-running Broken Sword series returns to consoles today, with the fifth entry in the series, The Serpent’s Curse. The franchise is firmly rooted in the classic adventure genre with puzzles and a mystery to solve.

The series began in 1996, with Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, a title that has been ported to a number of platforms. The Serpent’s Curse launched on PC late in 2013 after a successful Kickstarter campaign the year before.

The series stars an American attorney and French journalist  as they uncover conspiracies filled with crime and death. The Xbox One version is available today, with a PlayStation 4 edition arriving on September 8.
