I thought so too but the game wasnt the sequel 2 really needed in my mind. The HUD was too iffy and the whole ark level just didnt feel right to me. I did like the feeling towards the end though, the last cutscenes though were totally worth grinding through that game

yea MGS4 was definitely the best ending they could have had. The whole series was great. Im still hung up on Snake eater though lol but each one just gets better. 4 was by far the most awesome, old snake rocks lol
