I was never the huge gamer when I was a kid, that was my little sister who, over the years, warmed me up to gaming more then I thought she could. I think my fave gaming past-times were the 2 of us working together (and occasionally with my dad) to defeat certain levels in Spyro 1-3 and our first PS1 game, Tomba (you know, the Tarzan-wannabe with that awesome pink spiked hair?) And of course, there was using the wire to connect our Gameboy Colors to battle and trade our Pokemon. We even bought the special obnoxiously-teal cases for the Gamboy Colors, games, and that awesome purple transparent wire.
Even before the PS1, my dad had the original Nintendo Entertainment System he got with his buddies while he was in the Navy around 1986. Lucky for him, he had really nice friends and they let him keep the system along with the games Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros., Tetris, a football game, a basketball game, and a snowboarding game. In fact, I now have it in my room while temporarily staying at my grandfather's house for college. My dad is letting me own it under my name along with Super Mario Bros. and Tetris. Unfortunetely the guns for Duck Hunt are too old and I cannot play it. I think I may buy new ones if I can find any.
Now I proudly own a pink Nintendo DS Lite decorated with Hello Kitty DS stickers and rhinestones. I own Hello Kitty Big City Dreams, Wordmaster, My Weight Loss Coach, Pokemon Platinum, Princess Debut, ScribbleNauts, and share Mario Party with my little sister. My little sisters bought a used Wii with their x-mas money for the family and although I'm not home as much, it's still lots of fun to compete in Wii Sports and doing my best to defeat the levels in The World of Goo. I highly reccomend downloading it off the Wii, it's 500 Wii points, or (I think) $5.
So. Much. Fun.
As much as I am embracing my new growing gamer within, I still have my favorite activities other than gaming. I love to hike, read, explore libraries, watch horror movies, write short stories, listen to music, hang out with my friends, and go on failblog.org and icanhascheezburger.com with my boyfriend.
