Greetings, ladies and sirs. I am the one who is called Dav. You may call me Dav. You*, however, can call me Mr. Dav.
I was born in a little town called Poway in San Diego County, California, and there I lived for many years, shunning sunlight and wildfires in favor of books, video games, and acts of gross nerdery. You know the ones I mean.**
After I graduated from high school, I fled the state and never came back, except for those times when I did come back, and continue to come back, for Christmas presents, turkey dinners and Comic Con. I attended the great and mighty University of Oregon*** for four years, and graduated in June of 2009 with a BA in History****. Now I continue to live in the great city of Eugene until such time as I run out of money and move back in with my mother.
This is a video game forum*****, so I should talk about games. Games run deep in my life; I remember watching my mother play the Legend of Zelda on the ole' NES when I was but a tyke, and to this day I maintain a steadfast, unyielding, and admittedly irrational devotion to Nintendo. This has not stopped me from owning other systems; still, I like to buff my Nintendo-cred by disparaging the others at the slightest opportunity.
What else to say? I love books, movies, and music; I even play bass, which is like playing guitar if you're eighteen and you want to fit in with your college friends but think six strings are too hard******. My musical taste skews hard to the old school (and can usually be summed up by the word "Beatles"), but it is always expanding; the only genre which sits entirely outside its reach is Heavy Metal, to which I am opposed in the same way I am opposed to all things pertaining to jocks and d-bags.
Whither do I go in life? Wherever the gentle good times are to be had, dear friends. Wherever they may be had.*******
