Hello Mr. Turi, my name is Manny. I am new here to this website, but have been very active in posting blogs and keeping gamers informed on recent new in the industry. I have a question for you. Seeing as how you're at top of the ladder now, working for Game Informer and all, I was wondering if you could share some tips with someone like me who's dreams are to one day have the same job you do and be able to combine my two most favorite hobbies, video games and literature, into one and make a living from it. Hey I just finished reading your blurb on the COD Modern Warfare 2 achievements and I about pissed myself. As soon as I started reading I was like, hmm I think I know what... AHHHHHH lol!! One of my many favorite films, Snatch, the only film I know that Brad Pitt actually has an accent. But that part with Bullet-tooth Tony was one of my favorite. And the whole speech about comparing Tyrone, Sol, and Vinny to a set of male genitalia was amazing. So I just wanted to say thanks for using an awesome movie reference, and maybe I'll be able to snag those 10 respect points? hehe. "I'm a little disappointed there isn't a "Desert Eagle Point Five-O" achievement for taking down enemies through a wall with the .50 cal pistol. Ten respect points to anyone who gets the reference."

Hey thank Tim for having me. I just wanted to ask you somethings about OnLive since you have some [if not all] knowledge of this. My main question is do you think it will do good??? Sounds simple but to me it's complex. I honestly don't take this "OnLive" thing to be a "console". It to me seems....whats the word...Sega Dreamcast-ish. It's ahead of it's time [not in the good way like the PS3] It does things that our current generation of consoles can't do, and for the most part...I think that's a good thing. Sadly being a 100% online console it already shuts potential buyers out of this because certainly in our current recession some people have cut back on having broadband or "high-speed internet". Something else that caught my eye [and i bet OnLive wishes it did not] is that considering it has to stream such large amounts of content, you cannot play with someone at a far distance, for example, someone from Florida cannot play with someone from California. That also is a bad thing for what is the chances that many people in my "playable area" will buy this and play the games I play? Globally...well the chances are HIGH. Another thing I'm not sure will do well is how it works...period. Streaming games and not owning it. When I get tired of playing a certain game, I can pack it up and take it to game-stop. OnLive shuts out business' that sport the "game sections". I was standing at Blockbuster today [yes I still go to Blockbuster and love it] and thought to myself, if digital media goes full blown as how Sony would like it for it's new member of the Playstation family the PSPgo, people will get laid off and people spend less money...and so on and so on and eventually it will end up to where somebody cant afford a game console. [laughs] I'm not trying to be dramatic there but that's how the business world is. It just does not happen as fast as i might make it look lol. Something that has caught my eye is OnLive's investors....this is eyebrow raising to me. AT&T Media Holdings Inc, Luder Partners, Warner Bros., Autodesk and Maverick Capital. HOLD ON A SECOND, HOOOOOLD ON A SECOND!!!! Is this the same AT&T that provides cell phones and contracts??? YES!? Well is'nt that something? I CANNOT BELIEVE that AT&T wants to invest in and or fund OnLive. Why you may ask Tim, well this is why.... Communications giant AT&T has earned the ire of the gaming community after its comments to the FCC regarding the definition of "broadband." "For Americans who today have no terrestrial broadband service at all, the pressing concern is not the ability to engage in real-time, two-way gaming, but obtaining meaningful access to the Internet's resources and to reliable email communications and other basic tools that most of the country has come to expect as a given." Well well well, it seems somebody wants broadband now to be part of their investment, OnLive. Warner bros. is another one. I'm not complaining on part with Warner bros. but it sure looks like there going to help push the console wars even further with this because the do have some great games and family games. Also Warner bros. has recently bought midway. This will give them a good chance of having the launch roster filled with their games. I don't know Tim but will this be another spoof?
