Spider-Man: Edge of Time
The webslinger returns this fall, as Activision has announced Spider-Man: Edge of Time for a release on unspecified consoles.
Shattered Dimensions' developer Beenox is back at the helm of this title (check out Ben Reeve's review of that game, here), and Spidey's time-traveling ways will continue courtesy of a story penned by Spider-Man 2099 co-creator Peter David. According to the game's press release, the story tasks you with trying to "prevent a catastrophic future brought on by the early and untimely death of Peter Parker."
Despite the continuing use of the time continuum, Beenox studio boss Dee Brown says that Edge of Time will be different from Shattered Dimensions. "At Beenox, we are constantly listening to the fans and looking for new and creative ways to innovate the gameplay experience for them. We want to create a totally distinct experience in Spider-Man: Edge of Time by working with Peter David on the story and creating this urgent, high-stakes experience where time is working against you and the fate of Spider-Man hangs in the balance.”
Look for more info on Edge of Time soon, as the game will debut at WonderCon this weekend.
