Fallout 3 review for Xbox 360

This is the best game ever made...

"I am Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end. I shall give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life, freely." -Revelation 21:6

You start out as a VERY newborn baby and during the newborn, one year old, 10 year old, and 16 year old phases you choose your gender, customize how you'll look when you are an adult, learn how to use your Personal Informational Processor (Pip-Boy 300), pick the skills that you will use most in the game, and learn how to use the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S.). This is a good way to start a game, although action lovers won't like that you don't start off killing things. RPG lovers, on the other hand, should like the pacing as the intro provides story that you will need to fully understand what's happening around you.

The story itself isn't bad, it just isn't all that good. Your dad left the security of the large, underground Vault 101 and you leave to look for him. The story gets better as it goes and it hits a even sweeter spot if you have the Broken Steel expansion pack. That's the start of the game for ya.

The world of Fallout 3 is vast and expansive. It takes place in the rural and urban parts of and around Washington D.C. The world is full of interesting locations to find and discover along with some history behind some of them. It is a good way to get players involved in the world instead of just making it a bunch of dungeon-like areas. The game has a atmosphere that is true to the story and perfectly fits the mood.

The voice-acting is great with the most notable performance by Liam Neeson. His stern, fatherly voice is awesome as he IS your father. The music is awesome with old tunes from bands like the Ink Spots.

The animation is stiff. What else is there to say?

Anyway, Fallout 3 is the best Fallout in the series and you'd think wandering through a wasteland would be a bad thing. You'd be wrong.

Comments
  • I do agree Fallout 3 was AWESOME! The DLC's made it even better too. I just wish they would make another DLC but i think they wont since they are going to make Fallout New Vegas...

  • Well, Bethesda isn't. Obsidian is, however. Bethesda's just publishing it. Don't fear. Obsidian is made up of former Black Isle devs. If you don't know who Black isle is, Google it or Wikipedia it.
