I've owned 4 out of 5 currently released Wii online FPS (MOH:H2, WaW Wii, The Conduit, and this game), and I can honestly say this game is by far the best online FPS for the Wii I've ever played.
The framerate drops only occasionally happen in single player--towards the last mission, but it's not enough to be unable to complete the mission, nor is it gamebreaking. Online mode is smooth as ever though, and is the actual meat and potatoes of the game--like it should be.
And yes, the controls of this game, is a double edged sword. Very customizable, but for the people who hardly ever play Wii FPS games, it can get frustrating. But once you get it down to your liking, it's absolutely great! There is NOTHING wrong with the controls, other than finding the perfect fit for you.. Which can take anywhere from 15 minutes to hours. The only complaint I have about the controls is finding the perfect fit for sniping, as it is harder to do so than WaW Wii, due to added sway in this game, as well as Treyarch introducing "Precision aiming" to this game--which is imitating the sensitivity of a mouse on a computer.
As for the visuals? Sure it may not look like Metroid Prime Corruption or Resident Evil: Dark Side Chronicles, but you have to keep in mind that this game has a lot of things happening at once. Not just in single player, but multiplayer as well. They have to keep good graphics--while keeping online mode as smooth as they can. And this game looks definitely better than WAW Wii, and overall of one of the best looking Wii games period.
And for the haters who don't even OWN a Wii or never played a Wii FPS in their lives.. What about the visuals that makes it in between a 64 and a dreamcast??

Even people who dont' even OWN a Wii on gametrailers, says this game looks good!
Overall, this game has 95% of content in tact from the 360/PS3/PC versions that were released 2 years ago. The only things this game doesn't have over the PS3/360/PC versions are Wii speak, split screen multiplayer, kill cam, ground war playlist, and the 4 DLC maps.2 out of 5 of these reasons are due to limitations of Wii's hardware (wii speak and kill cam) anyway, so it's not too much of a big deal.
Other than that.. this game has all the original 16 maps, all the modes (minus Groundwar), all the challenges, weapons, perks, level up online system.. and exactly the SAME online level up system overall. If you've owned WaW Wii, it's better in just about every single way.
If you only own a Wii, and you are interested in FPS for the wii, consider getting this game! Don't listen to idiots like Snake who don't even have this game.. And which ever GameInformer staff who reviewed this game--is incredibly biased towards 360/PS3 systems. For one, how can he say the Wii is horrible for FPS gaming, when the rest of the critics (including a DIFFERENT critic staff on gameinformer)) disagree with him about Metroid Prime Corruption and Trilogy??
