Anomaly 2
Tower defense is a well worn genre. There are fantastic tweaks and twists on the concept (Plants vs. Zombies and Sanctum come to mind), but none is as bold as 11 bit studios' Anomaly series.
Putting players in the role of attackers rather than stationary towers creates an experience that feels fresh and different. The sequel to Anomaly: Warzone Earth and its expansion Anomaly: Korea were both well received. The full sequel, Anomaly 2, professes to include more of the gameplay fans crave and new multiplayer that puts one player in the traditional defender role.
The developer is offering two special deals for those interested in pre-ordering. Not only can customers get 10% off the standard $14.99 asking price, but those that purchase directly from 11 bit studios will get a second copy to give to a friend.
We have the release trailer below (a cutscene featuring a new, morphing unit). Anomaly 2 arrives on May 15, 2013 for PC, Mac, and Linux.
