poor wii. i like to think of it like a garbage dump. mostly junk but if you dig around hard enough, you can find something truly amazing.
My Holiday Wishlist
1. A Pony
3. A Blue Berry Muffin
4. A Better Wii
I owned a Wii twice this year well once my brother actually bought our first Wii system a few months ago and I recently bought a Wii from a pawnshop for $150. As a Wii owner I only had the chance to own the following games: Nights, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports, Fist of Fury, and a Bowling game. Now I haven't played any of Nintendo's triple A games like Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Smash Brothers, etc so I haven't yet to experience those games but so far its been average. The good things about the Wii would be the Virtual Console it has lots of classic games but I think that the pricing is pretty high and the selection is give or take not really alot of my classics are on the system. The bad things are the motion controls are just a gimmick it gets old fast trying to become one with the game or experiencing like your in another dimension. No 3rd party support and thats the main problem with the Wii all of the cool games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma, COD Modern Warfare 2 are on the PS3/Xbox 360 while the Wii gets nothing good. Even right now as I am typing this post i am thinking of what would get me into the Wii again. My Wii just sits on a shelve with no one to play it, it even got dust and lots of dust on it. Heck I even remember when I even forgot that I owned a Wii. If i had to give it another score it would be a 5/10 for being a system that was hyped up and failed to live up to the hype. Its good as a family system or for younger kids but for me being 24 years old its just not for me.
how do [i] feel about the w[ii] [i] really lyk [i]t [i]'m,
even thought they have the worst sect[i]on of th[i]rd party games. [i] st[i]ll lyk [i]t the w[ii] has some great games... [i]m 1 of the few whu actually bought mad world [i]ts a gud game [i] dnt kno why [i]t d[i]dnt sales as good as that game party crap.
the only two th[i]ngs that k[i]lls me about the w[ii] is mot[i]on controls nd w[i] f[i].
sumtyms [i] lyk sw[i]ng[i]ng the remote around but whu want 2 be a k[i]d aga[i]n when the games your paly[i]ng [i]s T (soul cal[i]bur legends) or M (madworld) when you use mot[i]on controls somet[i]mes they dnt even respond.another th[i]ng [i] dnt lyk about the w[ii] i[]s the w[i] f[i] connect[i]on [i] hate that [i]ts nt lyk the xbox 360 or ps3, when [i]m play[i]ng super mar[i]o str[i]kers [i] dnt want 2 go aga[i]nst the best player [i]n the game when [i] f[i]rst log on...and to tell you the truth [i] only use the w[ii] w[i] f[i] jus 2 get on myspace..

lacks good graphics.-that is the reason why i sold mine and also because the new wii hd is coming out.
real reason to buy it is to play oldschool franchises like mario and zelda etc
if you have a big family and have people that like to play and will always be their to play with you then you should buy a wii
if you are man that has no buddies to play with, the wii will, repeat will, suck after passing the oldschool franchises
if your a man with no friends eligible to play with you then you should by no means purchase the wii. trust it will get boring
I give the Wii 7/10.
The graphics are decent. I'm not gonna say a game is terrible because of bad graphics. That's stupid.
Playability of each game is very similar, which is always nice because that way there's never a whole lot of change from game to game.
1st party games are the best, next to the majority of Sega and Capcom releases.
The fact that the Wii is also a GameCube is great! Now I get to play all 10 of the best GC games I didn't get to play because I didn't have a GameCube! But it's lacking because once you go to GameCube mode, there's no going out without hitting the power button... lame.
The Virtual console is nice, but I wish there was more Player and Nintendo involvement. Instead of just putting up random VC games, make polls to see which games most Wii owners would like to see on the VC. I wanna see more N64 titles, preferably Smash Bros. And Resident Evil wouldn't be bad, by any means.
WiiWare is nice, but needs a demo mode. Spending money on a game that sounds nice is the trick. I've wasted $30 on WiiWare games.
Motion controls, I love them for the most part. The ability to use this cool controller called a Classic Controller, is a really nifty feature so that not everyone has to use motion for some games. My brother uses a CC for Mario Kart Wii, I use WiiMote and Chuck. Me and my brother use a CC for Brawl, and my friend likes the Wiimote and Chuck. The GameCube controller is also a nice feature for many games.
First Person Shooters. Everyone knows the Wii's motion is the ultimate formula for a great FPS game, but we have yet to see a flawless one. The Conduit and COD:WaW are far from amazing.
I like how the Wii has some mature rated titles, while at the same time, fun games that might appeal to a younger audience. Mario titles are timeless and fun. The only people I know that hate Mario games are those "hardcore" gamers that play FPS games all day because Mario is way too hard for them. Honest!
The Channels are pretty cool. If anything, I really wanna see more channels. I would want a channel like YouTube and something like NetFlix or whatever it's called. Also, a demo channel would be nice. And a Flash Games channel for playing games from Addicting Games, MiniClip, FunOrb and everything. All with buddy lists and whatnot. I think the Channels have great potential, they just need the right minds to make them.
I like how small the Wii is. For a little system, it packs one hell of a punch.
I'm not sure what else I can say. I own Wii Sports Resort, and I do play that by myself sometimes. Most of the time I play the Wii, I'm by myself, and I get a lot of joy out of it. I've been putting in several hours into my Wii over the past few weeks.
The only problem I see in the system, is the calibration. The Wii Remote should be able to recalibrate itself before every game, not just with Wiimotion plus games.
As for the Wii HD, it's all rumors. If there is a Wii HD coming out in 3 years, I'll buy it without a doubt, granted it has backward compatibility with the GC and the Wii.
Wishlist: Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles (PRE ORDERED!), RedSteel 2, Super Paper Mario, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex
Currently Playing: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
I grew up on nintendo systems, so my loyalty has always been there, and that's what led me to getting a Wii. However, I have several friends with 360s and I find myself liking the game selection better. I've been looking into getting one for a while now. Also, the motion control aspect is wearing thin on me. I do enjoy the Wii, but I guess I wish the graphics were a little better, as well as the quality of the game library.
The Wii is a great system. Nintendo has once again created a type of gameplay (motion controls) that will be followed, copied, and improved upon by the competition. It introduced a new way to play old games. The best thing I think it accomplished is that it leveled the playing field. Meaning it brought everyone, beginner gamers and long time hard core gamers, to the same starting line.

Wii stinks
Haha, another fanboy I see.
The Wii is pretty awesome. It has some excellent titles and Nintendo is still my favorite industry on the market. Motion controls, excellent 1st party support, and a place to buy old games to play on the new system (Wii Shop Channel).
9/10
Well I have had my Wii for awhile now and I have younger siblings that adore the games I would use for paper weights, but there are a few games that are worth it like Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It's about a 6 or 7 for me.
~Some of us are just Toxic.
I think the system is fundamentally flawed. The motion controls are its main selling point (this is my opinion based on how Nintendo markets the system), and yet all the top tier games on the sytem (Zelda, MadWorld, Smash Bros etc) would be equally as fun on any other console. It seems as though you are playing last-gen games on a current-gen system with a gimmicky controller. And lets not forget all the shovelware.
I would give it an 8 because I like the games but I still don't play it much.
I give it a 7 but I do agree they need new controller options and better game choices.
7 out of 10
@PS3Altair: Have you ever owned a Wii? Just wondering.
Now the opinions are starting to divide into positive and negatives, mostly postives.
