Nope, SP only.
thats terrible,what a great missed oppurtunity =[
Every game does not need multiplayer to be great.
Multiplayer would be tough to do too. It's not like you could have splitscreen, and just jumping into other peoples games online might not work so well.
This game is really fun so far. The graphics could use some work but I'm enjoying everything else about it. Has that great BioWare feel.
(I started a thread not knowing this one existed sorry folks) I LOVE Dragon Age Origins....most fun ive had in the genre since Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights...it has a bit of WoW feel to it (especially the opening for one of the dwarf plots) but that doesnt matter....the graphics arent top notch but trust me you wont care after you really start getting into the game. I started out a dwarf and i didnt like the feel of it so i went to an elf plot and the game was completely different for the opening. I am now 3 hours into the elf plot and things are getting juicy. The story seems to have alot to offer considering they had to create so many different point of views. The combat so far is pick your buff or your skill and attack kill and retarget. Its simple yet i know when i get my party going its going to be alot of different strategies.....anyways im rambling.... if youre a fan of d&d type RPG's then you will not be dissappointed.
best buy is shipping my collectors edition. should loose any shred of a life i currently have by the end of the week.
DON'T WORRY
I had a chance to play some last night. I am going as a Dwarf Noble. Haven't fifnished my origin story yet. If you are familar and liked Kotor/Jade Empire then you should feel right at home here. Yeah the graphics are certainly not that great but the game more then makes up for this.
Yep. Game is really good. Textures and lighting are awful. If you're a graphics ***, you'll probably be disappointed. The story and gameplay are good enough to overlook its visual deficiency, however.
So i am really absorbed in the story i make it to my party camp for the first time....and i get prompted in dialogue for more content....and EA wants to charge me for it..........ALREADY charging for content...smells funny to me....they released the game knowing they were gonna charge for content the same flipping day of release....GIMME a break!....Anyways i said screw the content for now back to saving Feldenar and saving the name of the grey wardens!!

That's comforting. And I don't think the graphics will be as big a deal as I originally thought. It'll probably provide some humor at 4 in the morning. Everything is funny at 4 in the morning.
Could someone just post below how good the game runs on their computer? Not the requirements, but how good it runs? I have a laptop PC/HP and it's meant to play games, but frankly, it's really has problems playing a populated world in Galactic Adventures, for example. I downloaded the Dragon Age Character Creator- it played aboslutely fine. That said, could someone give their opinion to how well they think my computer might take this game?
(IM DYING TO GET IT...)
nobody can tell you how good it runs on your computer unless you post your computers specifications.
Wow. Look out, later into the game. There are battles you simply CANNOT win, because of the limitations of the menu system. A battle I'm currently stuck on is literally impossible. All that happens is everyone in my party either gets frozen, knocked on the ground or stunned, making them unable to use healing potions or skills, and as soon as one of them dies - they all die a few seconds later.
I've ran into a few of these battles. So far, they've all mostly been optional - but this game doesn't hold a candle, gameplay-wise, to Mass Effect. I'm seriously tempted to lower the difficulty, because even at the normal setting, I've probably already died at least 25 - 30 times, and I'm NOWHERE in this game, yet. I hope the PC version is better, because the console version is a mess in combat.
I am really looking forward to playing this game, as I am any Bioware game really. Is the difference between the console ad PC version really that noticeable? I have heard the PC version is way better.
