Over the past decade Mixed Martial Arts as a sport has absolutely blown up. So, those of you who watch religiously, have a passing interest, or are looking for more information on the sport, this thread is for you.
That said, this thread is for debate about rankings, who you would like to see fight, who your favorite fighters are and what your favorite match is.
For me I am a fan of Marcus Davis. The guy is a tough as nails scrapper, and is willing to put on a great fight, no matter who the opponent is. He also is a humble guy and not too cocky for his own good.
I could watch/talk about MMA all day long. I truly love it.
There was FINALLY a good fight on the Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights!
Marcus Jones nearly ripped Mike Wessel's arm off. The fight only lasted about 30 seconds, Jones attempted a kimura, mike rolled over and gave marcus his back, marcus started working a rear naked choke, Mike turned over out of that and Marcus got him in an armbar and mike had to verbally tap. I hope Marcus Jones wins the whole thing. He is humble and a good dude and he has some insane BJJ.
anyway, my favorite fighters are Keith Jardine, Wanderlei Silva and Frank Mir. I tend to root for the wrestling and jiu jitsu guy but Jardine just has an awesome style. I want to see a rematch between him and Silva.
Ha, Jardine with the angry monkey style, I can dig it. Although I couldn't stand listening to Rashad's commentary during Jardine and Rampage's fight. I mean you would have though Jardine and Rashad were life partners not training partners.
I have to agree about TUF this season. I really haven't been impressed by anyone except Marcus. The guy who beat Kimbo is just a fat piece of fat that laid on top of him the entire time.
Fedor is just a beast. You can't give that guy even the slightest opening or else good night.
yes i was so impressed by Marcus Jones! that armbar cam out of nowhere!! i hate to say it but he is going to win the show.
Tonight's Strikeforce card was rather refreshing, especially after the last few UFC cards having been a mixed bag.
I was rooting for Rogers simply because I cannot stand Fedor fanboys and I want to see them meltdown. At least Rogers justified his top 10 ranking and answered some questions about his takedown defense and ground game. I like his potential, he needs to be join a top-tier camp asap.
