We discuss the difference between remaking a game and reimagining one, clarify why combat has been dismissed, and even question Harry’s new spectacles. Read on for the details.
From The Vault: A Look At Box Art From Classic Sports Games
Classic box art takes its share of lumps among gamers. Turn those boxes over, however, and you’ll see ridiculous claims in the bullet points, dated screenshots or references of hardware long past their day.
'The Conduit' Weapons Lab
Next week, The Conduit will be landing in the eager hands of Wii owners everywhere. We’ve got an exclusive weekly look at the FPS’ weapons, updated every Friday. This week we look at some Drudge weaponry based on bio-mass technology.
Catching Up With IRacer
Every developer has its own angle when it comes to racing games, and iRacing is no different. Rather than focus on providing hundreds of different cars like Forza or Gran Turismo, or on teeth-shattering crashes like Burnout, iRacing has put an emphasis on realistically modeling its tracks—accurate down to the millimeter, they say.
Deuces Wild
At this year’s E3, it was hard not to notice the abundance of sequels on hand. Sure, there were plenty of new ideas at the show, but it seemed as though everywhere you looked on the floor there was a game followed by the digit “2.” We’ve compiled a list of the best twos on hand—no threes and up allowed.

Hands On With Little King's Story
Little King's Story aims to arm players with tremendous power and sway, allowing them to charm a land's population into allegiance. Is Corobo's charm strong enough to make us fall in line, or is this sovereign second-rate? FULL STORY
Def Jap Rapstar: Not Just Rap Karaoke
We recently met up with the folks at Def Jam Interactive and 4mm Games to talk about their upcoming collaboration. It didn’t take long for us to grasp what the duo hoped to accomplish with Def Jam Rapstar. Read on for the scoop. FULL STORY
Cops And Criminals: First Look At APB
When word got out that Realtime Worlds was working on a massively multiplayer game of some sort, it inspired plenty of speculation. Was it a follow-up to its Crackdown game, with support for dozens of superheroic agents? FULL STORY
The Conduit
If the Wii is the only platform available to you, The Conduit is an acceptable FPS. Those of us who have spent any time with the genre since the turn of the millennium have no reason to pick this up. FULL STORY
Guitar Hero: Smash Hits
As the name Guitar Hero: Smash Hits suggests, this is a greatest hits compilation of tracks from earlier Guitar Hero titles, now featuring the full band play introduced in World Tour. FULL STORY
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger
If you were looking for proof that Japanese developer Arc System Works is insane, here it is. Fortunately for the rest of us, BlazBlue also doubles as an enjoyable fighting game. FULL STORY
Overlord II
Overlord II shamelessly embraces its evil heritage, and goes to great lengths to put the hilarious minions front and center. On the other hand, it just doesn’t play well. FULL STORY
Overlord: Dark Legend
Dark Legend is a coming of age story about a young, untrained lord of evil. That is, if your coming of age included leading gremlin-like minions, destroying countrysides, and fomenting war. FULL STORY

We talked with Cullen about the role, including his inspirations, and much more.
