Minnesota Vikings punter, Chris Kluwe, may be best known as "that guy who sometimes stands behind Brett Favre on the sidelines," but gamers will likely know him for his amazing pumpkin creations. That's right, to prepare for gameday, Chris recreates his favorite video game moments through pumpkin carving. He says it relaxes him, and makes his kicking leg "Black Thunder" feel stronger.
Chris just finished this beautiful Mario pumpkin a few minutes ago. We're not sure how he managed to get so much detail into it, but he says it's a cross between magic, and him being a genius. And in case you are wondering, Chris' plant leg is named "White Lightning." In his words, "together they make it rain harder than Pacman Jones."
As the amazing magical genius behind this piece of timeless art, I approve this wonderful story. Bravo good sir. Bravo.
Pretty cool. I can barely cut out the basic shapes that I use on my pumpkin. Oh and the Pacman Jones comment is great too.
Timeless? I have a feeling it will be trash in a week.
Or possibly fed to the dogs. You never know.
Or the baby.
Very cool!
I wonder why I am seeing such a huge number of game-themed pumpkins this year. I don't remember any last year.
I didn't know Punters had rituals too. But hey those handful of plays they are in can be very important too. That pumpkin is just amazing, how on earth do you do shading on a pumpkin carving???
If you take off the top layer of skin, then the more you shave off the lighter it gets. It's just a matter of mapping out the depths you want for the shades you're looking for.
Or you can use magic. Like me.
Who's Chris Kluwe?!
Nice pumpkin.
Bertz,
Kluwe is Ryan Longwell's butler
I guess you have a lot of free time when your a Punter.
Replace 'Punter' with 'Football player', and yes, you would be correct. Also, Bertz, in case you haven't noticed I'm the guy that comes on when 4th down rolls around and everyone gets up to get a snack or go to the bathroom. You also may catch the tail end of a punting play when they cut away from a tv graphic or insurance commercial.
Wow. That's really impressive. I remember an issue of GI Kluwe was in where he apparently beat that Dragonforce song on expert on GH3.
That's cool that he is that talented with his motor skills. I dont know about you guys, but whenever I think of a football player, I think of some big ol' hunk of ugly that will snap your limps in alphabetical order.
Seriously can I have that pumpkin?
whats the big deal it will rot in a week
