Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar's seminal open-world western from last generation, is now enhanced on Xbox One X.

The news was announced on today's Inside Xbox stream alongside a host of other backwards compatible games and enhancements. Red Dead Redemption now runs at native 4K on the Xbox One X, so console owners with 4K TVs can now play an even better looking version of the game.

Red Dead Redemption joined the Xbox One backwards compatibility list way back in 2016 and was already the best place looking version at the time. As with all backwards compatible games on Xbox One, you can either insert the disc to download a copy of the game or buy it from Xbox Live.

Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 26.

Our Take
I was planning to replay Redemption sometime before the sequel and this as good an excuse as any. I'm hoping to see comparison shots before too long.
