Sonic Mania Intro Released, PC Delay Announced On Livestream

by Imran Khan on Aug 11, 2017 at 02:24 PM

Sonic Mania is coming out in only a few days, which means the leaks from early copies have come out, including the entire animated intro. As a response to it already getting out there, Sega has released the intro on their own. The intro, much like the pre-order trailer, was animated by the very talented Tyson Hesse, the artist behind the weird and hilarious Hedgehog the Sonic comic.

Sega also held a strange livestream today, advertised on Twitter as containing news about the Sonic Mania. The livestream began with a black screen stating that Sonic the Hedgehog's social media head, Aaron Webber, had overslept and was running late. Soon, others on the video began streaming Sonic Adventure 2 while waiting for Webber. The Twitter voice for the Sonic series eventually came out stating that he was just told that Sonic Mania would be delayed on PC until August 29th, but that pre-purchases would get Sonic the Hedgehog 1 as compensation.

The livestream eventually continued with an unboxing of Sonic Mania's Collector's Edition and ended fairly abruptly.

Check out the very cool intro to Sonic Mania below, as it might be the most sane aspect of Sonic Mania's marketing so far.
