Seagate’s Official Gears Of War 4 External Hard Drive Comes With DLC

If you have an original Xbox One and only 500 GB of hard drive space, you’re probably long out of storage. Your choices are to either juggle the games you have installed or get an external drive to increase your capacity.

There are a number of options out there, but Microsoft and Seagate are banking on love for Gears of War 4 to sell this one. The 2 TB drive is designed to match the upcoming Gears of War Xbox One S and similarly decorated Xbox One Elite Controller.

The USB 3.0 drive works with any Xbox One, of course. And if you don’t care about the deco or the two DLC Gear Packs that come with the device, you can find a similar Seagate drive without the Gears logo for about $15 less expensive than the $100 asking price for this model.

The Gears of War 4 drive will ship in October. According to Seagate, it’s exclusive to GameStop (disclosure: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company).

Update: Seagate says the drive supports 120 MB/s transfer speeds and is indistinguishable from using the internal Xbox One hard drive.
