Just Dance Is Coming To Nintendo NX In 2017

Ubisoft has announced that it will be supporting Nintendo's next console in 2017. While we don't know the full breadth of games the publisher is planning for NX, we do know one that is a guarantee.

Just Dance, which has sold 60 million copies worldwide since the franchise debuted in 2009, will be coming to NX. Ubisoft didn't crack when pressed about specific features the console will offer.

The dance series launched on the Wii and made use of Wii Remotes to sense movement. Just Dance has also appeared on Xbox and PlayStation systems making use of camera peripherals.

Most recently, Just Dance has been adapted to use mobile phones as controllers. It's possible that NX will continue to support Wii Remotes, use mobile phones as an input device, or have an entirely different control scheme connected to NX's controller.

Ubisoft's announcement comes after the publisher was severely disappointed with sales of its Wii U games. The company was one of Nintendo's strongest supporters during the Wii U's launch, but stopped investing in development when it became clear that the install base wasn't going to grow significantly.
