Did You Know Gaming Takes On The Dark Souls Series
From Software's Souls series has built a rich world. Did You Know Gaming's newest segment unearths the series' wealth of lore and offers fascinating snippets of information from its development.
Noteworthy bits of trivia include how multiple architectures and buildings were inspired by real-life locations. For example, the city of Anor Londo is based off the Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano) in Italy. Another tidbit is how the Painted World of Ariamis was originally supposed to be pulled from the game, because the wintry environment didn't mesh well with the rest of the game. However, because director Hidetaka Miyazaki was fond of the environment, it was kept, but condensed into a world that could be accessed through a portal in a painting.
