Darksiders II Developers Working On Deathinitive Edition For New Systems

by Matthew Kato on Jun 11, 2015 at 02:30 AM

Publisher Nordic Games has already confirmed the Darksiders II Deathinitive edition remaster for the new consoles, but today's official announcement reveals that the project is being handled by Gunfire Games, the new studio featuring David Adams – co-founder of original series developer Vigil Games – and many other team members who worked on the franchise.

The game comes out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this winter, and the title integrates all of Darksiders II's DLC into the remaster (see list below) as well as features tweaked gameplay balancing and loot distribution. Naturally, the game on the new consoles looks better, with 1080p resolution and better graphics all around.

A price for the collection has not been announced.

Original Darksiders II DLC included in the Deathinitive Edition:

  • Maker Armor Set
  • The Abyssal Forge
  • The Demon Lord Belial
  • Death Rides
  • Angel of Death
  • Deadly Despair
  • Shadow of Death
  • Mortis Pack
  • Rusanov's Axe
  • Van Der Schmash Hammer
  • Fletcher's Crow Hammer
  • Mace Maximus
  • Argul's Tomb

Our Take
The reported list price was $40 – which given the long list of DLC and care taken with the remaster – would be a helluva deal if it ends up being true.
